Asiaticoside

INCI Name: Asiaticoside
CAS No.: 16830-15-2
Molecular Formula: C₄₈H₇₈O₁₉
Specifications: 40%, 90%, 95%
Appearance: Fine powder ranging from brownish yellow, pale yellow to white, with the characteristic odor of Centella asiatica
Solubility: Asiaticoside is insoluble in water, but soluble in alcoholic solvents (e.g., ethanol), DMSO as well as polyol solvents such as butanediol, propylene glycol and glycerol.
Recommended Handling Procedure: It is advisable to first dissolve the powder in 5–10 times the volume of ethanol, butanediol or propylene glycol to prepare a stock solution before incorporating it into the formulation. Due to its water insolubility, it is more suitable for alcohol-based formulations or requires the aid of microemulsification technology to achieve stable dispersion in the aqueous phase.
Product Applications: It is often compounded with other Centella asiatica active ingredients such as asiatic acid, madecassic acid and Centella asiatica extract to exert a synergistic repairing effect.
